Popup Systems

Pop-up sprinklers have traditionally been used for the general watering of large lawn areas, sports grounds and golf courses etc.

Pop-up systems require an underground network of supply pipes. As the name implies water is delivered under pressure through adjustable sprinkler jets housed in telescopic pipes.

Once the watering cycle is completed the sprinkler head retracts below the surface to allow mowing etc. Water supply may be provided by mains water storage tank, groundwater collection and reservoir or rain harvesting. 

Due to the large amounts of water required these systems are prone to high wastage and therefore must be carefully designed. Wind can seriously affect coverage and evaporation is a major problem when spraying water in fine droplets into the air. However this is currently the only way to deal with these large areas.
